Course overview
This programme is designed to prepare you for a career in modern business and management. The major areas of business administration are covered: accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, information sytems and international business and you'll also have the opportunity to acquire expertise within chosen specialisms.

  

Course entry requirements
Students must:- be at least 17 years of age.  

- have passed two subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level + at l  at least three further subjects at GCSE or GCE ‘O’ Level.

- be able to demonstrate that you have reached a level of competence in Mathematics at least equivalent to a pass at GCSE/GCE ‘O’ Level, at not  less than grade C, in a mathematical subject.

- have fluent comprehension and writing skills in English or I.E.L.T.S score of 6.0

Course length and start dates
LCES offers students the option of studying over two or three semesters each year. Students study two papers per semester.Start dates: January, March, July and September.


Exams

Exams are held in May and June each year. You will have to apply to enter for the exam and registering as a student does not register you for the exams.

Foundation level (four units)                        

Two compulsory full units:

Management and the modern corporation

Accounting for management

PLUS four compulsory half units:

Business analysis and decision making

Business statistics
Business study skills and methodsManagement and communication skills
Advanced level (four units)                      

One compulsory full unit:

Strategic management


PLUS three full units from:

Marketing management

Human resource management
Production and operations management
Management information systemsManagement accounting
Specialist level (four units)

One compulsory full unit:
Modern business in comparative perspective

PLUS the equivalent of three full units from:
Advertising and promotion in brand marketing
International human resource management
Accounting for strategy
Innovation management
Marketing research
Consumer behaviour
Managing organisational change
The individual at work
European businessMultinational enterprise
 
Exemptions
Exemptions for some papers including the whole of Levels 1 and 2 of the degree, are available for holders of internationally recognised degrees, HNDs and other professional qualifications. Please contact LCES for further details.
